
Dustin began racing on two wheels at an early age.
He attained the title of National Champion BMX 6 year old and at 7 represented Zimbabwe at the all Africa Championships.

Particularly known for gaining good starts
His ability to come round the outside and take the lead Dustin soon developed a racing brain and we looked to introducing him to Motocross.

Built a practice track in our front yard

Dustin won the Zimbabwe Junior A 85cc Championship 1997 and experienced a few National and Regional race meetings in South Africa.

Junior 125cc class and he ended up Zimbabwe Champion 1998
Early in the 1998 season we decided to up Dustin to the Junior 125cc class and he ended up Zimbabwe Champion !!

Revamped the track at home
Revamped the track at home using Ian Ferrimans tip truck and a front end loader from neighbour Doug Elcombe. We held a couple of National Championship meetings here and an International attended by former world Champion Grant Langston.

2002, I took the bull by the horns, got on a plane in Johannesburg and flew to London to start the season with Motoward Racing, by kind invitation from Martin Ward.

British National Schoolboy Championship
I had a good time with Motoward coming 3rd in British National Schoolboy Championship and a win at the East Kent Schoolboy International at Canada Heights.

South Africa 1998
1998 our intention was to race more frequently in South Africa as the standard was up a few notches, enter the YZ 85cc.

South African Nationals 1999
So came 1999 and we planned to race all the South African Nationals in the Junior 125cc class. This would involve loads of traveling and again sponsors came to our assistance in the form of Subway, (my old mate Kevin Graham)

South African Junior 125cc Championship 1999
1999 was a great year, Dustin won all the Zimbabwe events he entered and also attained 3rd overall in the South African Junior 125cc Championship, with a first place in the Peter Maritzburg round.

This old Toyota Hilux 2.4D took me to the South African races for two years clocking over 200,000 kilometers without missing a beat.
